Roundtable 4: 29 May 2020

Our fourth roundtable held on 29 May 2020 was a reprise of session #1.

A lot has changed in the world in the last 8 weeks, we have learnt a lot, and the teams here in Brisbane continue their critical work. In this session Professor David Paterson and Professor Paul Young gave an update on their COVID-19 projects.

Roundtable 3: 12 May 2020

Our third roundtable was held on 12 May 2020.  It provided information on research investigating the impacts of COVID-19 on the mental health and wellbeing of our clinical workforce and of the broader community. Our presenters included:

  • A/Prof Dylan Flaws (Metro North Mental Health, Queensland Health)
  • Prof Jolanda Jetten (School of Psychology, The University of Queensland)
  • Dr Shane Warren (School of Public Health and Social Work, Faculty of Health, Queensland University of Technology)

Roundtable 2: 16 April 2020

Our second roundtable was held on 16 April 2020. It provided information on the impact of COVID-19 on the older population , as well as behavioural programs to avoid preventable mass healthcare worker sick leave. In this session we also provided an insight into advanced uses of data and analytics , and how our innovative clinicians are applying research capability to respond to a rapidly changing environment. Our presenters included:

  • Professor Nancy Pachana (Professor of Clinical Geropsychology, School of Psychology The University of Queensland)
  • Paul Barnett (Cofounder and Managing Director, Asymmetric Innovation)
  • Assoc. Professor Clair Sullivan (Chief Digital Health Officer Metro North Hospital and Health Service)

Roundtable 1: 30 March 2020

Our first roundtable was held on 30 March 2020. It provided updates on clinical trials, vaccine developments and biobanking for COVID-19. The presenters included:

  • Professor David Paterson (Director UQ Centre for Clinical Research)
  • Professor Paul Young (Head School, Chemistry Mol Bioscience, UQ and Institute of Molecular Biosciences)
  • Professor Janet Davies (QUT, Assistant Director Research Metro North HHS)
